State of the Art Design
Remarkable developments in ship performance over the last decade have sometimes fallen below the radar screen due to headline-producing advances in aerospace, information and medical technology. However, recent advances in ship design, combined with increased efficiency of propulsion systems and computer-assisted design tools, have enabled ship designers to create ships with significant gains in speed and overall operating performance.
One advantage of the SeaBridge approach is its specially designed ship featuring a state-of-the-art Pentamaran hull technology. Created in Europe using international best practices, this design provides numerous benefits. SeaBridge has acquired exclusive rights to this patented design for the North American and other markets.
State-of-the-Art design includes:
- Greatly improved fuel efficiency over conventional ships
- Higher speed capability, up to 42 knots (48 mph)
- Large capacity, capable of carrying 100 trucks and 500 cars plus passengers
- “Roll-on, roll-off” loading: trucks and cars simply drive quickly on and off the ship
- Excellent sea-keeping (a smooth, comfortable ride) even in heavy seas
- Comfortable, spacious private cabins and public areas
The graphic diagrams to the left represent a conception of the ship’s general interior arrangement and specifications. Testing, further propulsion studies, as well as the refinement of customer requirements will affect the final design.
